HAZMAT

Hazardous Materials — substances or articles regulated during transportation because they can pose risks to health, safety, property or the environment. Depending on the specific material, quantity and mode of transportation, requirements may include trained personnel, approved packaging, shipping papers, labels, markings, placards, carrier registration or a driver’s hazardous-materials endorsement. Not every hazardous shipment triggers every requirement.
