When U.S. Customs and Border Protection selects a shipment for examination, that cargo has to be moved to an approved facility, made available for inspection, and released — a process that can add days and cost if the pieces are handled by separate vendors. Island Movers operates a U.S. Customs-approved Central Examination Station (CES) alongside a bonded Container Freight Station (CFS), open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Our Oʻahu facilities sit minutes from the major ocean terminals, Honolulu International Airport, and the State of Hawaiʻi Foreign Trade Zone, so the pull from the terminal, the exam, the bonded handling, and the final delivery all stay with one company operating under USDOT# 105271 and MC# 135534.

A Central Examination Station, or CES, is a bonded facility authorized to hold and present cargo for inspection by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Island Movers operates a CES in Hawaiʻi to support these examinations in a secure, controlled environment.
Shipments are selected for CES examination by U.S. Customs and Border Protection or USDA based on their own criteria. If your container or cargo is flagged, it will be moved to the CES for devanning, inspection, and any required documentation before release.
Customs or Agriculture officers decide which shipments need inspection based on the import documents and risk assessments. Island Movers coordinates the process once your cargo is selected.

Yes. Once your shipment is cleared, we can deliver your cargo directly from the CES to its final destination anywhere in Hawaiʻi.
